Voter Trainings
Would you be interesting in hosting a Voter Training in your community? Let us know! ID Action is traveling across the state to provide workshops to help people with disabilities understand the election process, their voting rights and even get hands-on experience using the new voting machines. Contact ID Action at contactus@idaction.org or call 1-866-432-2846.
Advocating for Change Campaign Grants
Advocating for change is always important, which is why this year we'll be leaving the State Capitol behind and taking Advocating for Change Day to the streets, your streets. ID Action wants to work with you to plan and implement Advocating for Change campaigns and events in your own communities. If you have something that you want to change to make your city, county or state a better place for Iowans with disabilities, this is your chance to be heard.
ID Action is offering a limited number of grants to individuals and groups to help organize local advocacy campaigns around disability-related issues. Grant awards of up to $2,000 are available for campaign activities that may include educational workshops, grassroots and coalition building activities and public forums. Since ID Action is a nonpartisan project, grants may not be used to advocate for a particular political party or candidate.
Funds are limited, so use your imagination and be creative in your efforts! Grants are only available for a limited time, so apply early to increase your chances of receiving a grant.
